Yes — most Natalia addresses have smart meters, so orders placed by 5 p.m. on a business day can start the same day. Pick your start date at checkout, up to 90 days ahead.

Compare effective rates at YOUR usage, not advertised rates — fees and bill credits bend each plan differently. Check the contract length and cancellation fee, then confirm delivery charges are included. The tables on this page do all three, and checkout takes about ten minutes.

Yes. Texas law gives you a 14-day window before your contract end date to switch with NO early-termination fee. Find your end date on your bill, then shop it today — the expensive move is drifting onto a holdover rate.

How to Find the Best Energy Plan in Natalia

#1 rule: Know your usage!

Determining the amount of energy you will consume monthly is the best way to shop for power in Natalia. Why does this matter?

The rate you see power providers advertising is for an exact monthly usage (typically 1000 kWh).

Every plan has a different equation for how your monthly statement is determined, and your monthly bill will change according to how much power you consume each month.

Unless you match the exact advertised usage each month, you will end up paying a “price per kWh” different than what you saw when you ordered.

Thankfully, there’s a better way to pick your energy provider.

Calculating your total monthly bill based on estimated monthly usage, then comparing rates by the total monthly bill is the best way to shop for the lowest rate for your household.

Better still, if you have a year of usage history for your home, you can compare plans by total annual cost. This annualized method considers the changes in usage between the summer and winter months and is the ideal way to determine the right electricity rate plan for your home.

Compare Power does all this math for you in an instant. What could take you hours inside a spreadsheet is now done in a few seconds.

We put you in the driver’s seat, taking what would amount to hours of investigation, spreadsheets, and computations across hundreds of offers to assist you step-by-step with the energy plan that’s best for your household’s usage.

We clarify the details, disclosing all fees, so you’ll know precisely where your money is going and what to anticipate on your monthly bill.

We then help you enroll with your chosen energy company without ever having to leave our service.

The takeaway here is you must understand your expected or historical usage before choosing the right energy plan for your home.

If you don’t know your usage, estimate

Suppose you recently purchased a home or business or cannot obtain 12 months of usage history. In that case, you can always estimate your average energy in any given month.

While not as optimal as having all the previous 12 months of usage, estimating your average usage is better than blindly picking the first plan you see advertised by an energy company at a specific usage that isn’t what you’ll consume.

Use Compare Power to shop for the best electricity plan for your specific usage.

Moving to Natalia: Setting up Electricity

If this is your first time setting up electricity service in Natalia, to get the best rate, you need to get the previous 12 months of energy usage for your new home.

Ask the previous homeowner to provide you with their past 12 months of usage.

This information is readily found in recent billing statements.

Acquiring usage for the past 12 months may take effort, but the time (and savings) will be well worth it.

Once you have historical usage, Compare Power will do the math instantly to help you find the best plan for your home’s usage pattern.

Note: You can estimate your monthly usage if you can’t obtain a usage history. Utilize our “Help Me Choose” tool when you enter your zip code below, and we’ll help you evaluate your home’s usage.

Sign-up for a plan in minutes through Compare Power. We will remind you when it’s time to return to switch and save at the end of the plan length you decide on.

Switching Electricity Companies in Natalia

Switching is good. Market conditions are constantly changing, so it is vital to shop for a lower rate every year when your contract is close to expiring.

Your existing energy company will typically raise your energy rate once your term expires. If you fail to take action, you’ll be left on a month-to-month rate significantly higher than the plan you signed up for.

Electric plug on hundred dollar bills with utility bill showing balance and electric charges

Before renewing your contract, check the rates of competing electricity companies.

Switching can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars yearly on your energy bill.

Switching is easy:

  • You don’t have to call your current provider to cancel (no “break-up call”)
  • No one comes to your home
  • There is no disruption in your electricity supply
  • It takes just minutes

When you decide to switch, your new energy provider will handle everything, including canceling service with your previous company.

Your lights stay on when you switch. Electricity in Natalia is all delivered by the Oncor Transmission and Distribution Utility.

The wires and poles that deliver power to your home do not change when you switch electricity companies. Therefore the reliability of your service is not affected.

You can choose any date within 14 days of your contract expiration without an “early cancellation” fee. Texas law protects you here.

If you’re still under contract, find out how many months remain on your contract. You can set a future start date with most providers up to 6o days in advance.

The amount saved each month by switching to a different electricity company may outweigh the one-time fee to get out of your contract early.

If you’re ready to switch and would like to know how to find the best plan remember that understanding your usage is the best way to find the lowest price.

Keep in mind that when you get ready to switch and you want to know the most efficient way to find the right plan at the best rate, it is essential that you first understand your usage. To accomplish that, you must collect the usage history for the past 12 months.

Natalia Electricity Rates FAQs

Did You Know?

HISTORICAL

Natalia was founded in 1881 when the International-Great Northern Railroad came through the area, and the town was named after Natalie Pearson, the daughter of railroad surveyor Fred Stark Pearson. The community quickly became a shipping point for local ranchers and farmers, with the railroad bringing prosperity to this small corner of Medina County during the late 19th century cattle boom.

RECENT

In 2020, Natalia completed a major downtown revitalization project that restored several historic buildings along Main Street and added new sidewalks and period-appropriate street lighting. The project was funded through a combination of state grants and local fundraising efforts, breathing new life into the small town's commercial district and attracting new businesses to the area.

FAMOUS PEOPLE

Country music singer and songwriter Gary P. Nunn, famous for writing 'London Homesick Blues' (the theme song for Austin City Limits), spent part of his childhood in the Natalia area. His song became one of the most recognizable anthems of Texas music, and he often credits his South Texas roots for influencing his distinctive sound that blends country, folk, and progressive country styles.

DID YOU KNOW

Natalia is home to one of the oldest continuously operating general stores in South Texas, established in 1883 and still serving the community today. The store has survived the Great Depression, two world wars, and numerous economic downturns while maintaining its original tin ceiling and wooden floors, making it a living piece of Texas frontier history that still sells everything from feed to groceries.

CULTURAL

Every October, Natalia hosts the annual Natalia Mustang Days festival, celebrating the town's connection to wild mustangs that once roamed the surrounding Hill Country. The festival features a unique mustang adoption program in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, live music, and traditional Texas barbecue, drawing visitors from across South Texas to this small town of fewer than 1,500 residents.
